This project is supported by the Victorian Government through Creative Victoria.

The Creative Co-Operative is publishing a book of stories of intersections written, edited and illustrated entirely by migrant Women of Colour in Victoria.

👉🏾 Are you an emerging Woman of Colour creative?

👉🏾 Did you grow up being told there was no money future in creative careers, but your heart always tugged in this direction, despite all the expectations you felt you had to live up to? Did that dream take hold as an aspiration of one day being published?

👉🏾 If this sounds all too familiar, we want to hear from you! We need your help to tell our stories, which, until now, have largely been untold.

We know this is an area lacking intersectionality and we want to do something about it. Come join us on our mission to publish the country's first book of short stories written, illustrated and edited by a 100% Woman of Colour creative collaboration.

It is time to write intersectionality back into literature 📒

We are after stories of the intersectional experience of first or subsequent generation migrant Women of Colour living in Victoria. Perhaps you moved here or grew up here. Perhaps you live in urban or regional Victoria. Through storytelling, we want to build empathy and understanding in society, of what a day in our very different lives are like. Unless one has lived it, one never understands what it feels like to have an intersectional identity.

We want to get stories out there about:

➡ the challenges we face

➡ the beauty behind our resilience

➡ the valuable lessons we have learned and can offer to others
